THINGS TO RUIN

coming_soonMusic and Lyrics by Joe Iconis

Northland Premiere

Be among the first to catch the work of Broadway’s hottest new composer, Joe Iconis, in this incendiary theatrical rock concert about human beings who are messy, emotional, drugged up, knocked down, inspired, electric and who don’t have nearly enough time to cause the kind of commotion they so desperately need to.

An emotionally-charged and adrenaline-fueled evening of rock and roll, THINGS TO RUIN is smart, funny and dominated by a devil-may-care attitude toward the conventions of musical theater. Joe Iconis – dubbed “the laureate of cynicism” by The New York Times – might very well be the future of musical theater, and with a list of influences ranging from The White Stripes to The Muppets, his music is anything but conventional. Rather, he has funneled his considerable talents into this evening of original and inspired musical theater about a generation on the verge of taking over – or taking the whole thing down with them.

“So much fun that it’s a little overwhelming – ‘transporting’ is probably the best word!” – Variety

“I would call ‘Things to Ruin’ the beginning of something, except that it is already well under way.” – New York Times

August 14-16, 21-23 & 28-30, 2014
All shows at 8pm
